Planning your wedding in the spring of Colorado is taking a risk. You never really know what the weather is going to do until the day of. In fact, in the days leading up to Laura and Brad's wedding, the forecast showed bright sunny skies with temperatures close to 70. But Friday evening before the ceremony on Saturday, it took a dramatic turn straight to blizzard conditions! You never can tell with mountain weather! This did not upset or interfere at all with these two, and their plan to solidify their forever on a snowy Saturday in April at the Hotel Boulderado.
This is such a beautiful venue - eerie and romantic, dark and intimate all at once. It certainly feels like something out of a horror film, but take a gorgeous bride, a wedding gown, and a dapper groom (all the while, giant picturesque snowflakes accumulating outside the windows), and suddenly, what felt haunted before, now feels like the perfect warm sanctuary to ride out the storm. It becomes its own love story, as the bride and groom stand to meet each other on the grand staircase beneath the stunning detailed stain-glass ceiling and promise to love each other always.
The vintage settees, red curtains adorning the windows of the Presidential Suite, moose heads on the walls of The Corner Bar, and quite the fun crowd of both wedding party and wedding guests combine to make a lush, loud, and love-filled wedding dream! Thank you Laura and Brad for giving us the honor to photograph your love story!
