Um, hold the phone.
A historic wedding venue, vintage colors from seasonal blooms, sweeping mountain vistas, and a trendy bar wedding reception? Are these people actually me!? They certainly know how to make me one happy wedding photographer, das fa sho.
Kelsey and Breck are total badasses, pilots in the Air Force (why does that totally remind me of Starship Troopers?!). As are most of their family and friends. You know what else that means? This was a group of people who know how to throw down a good party! Oh oh, another thing - these two live in the hippest coolest Tiny House I've ever seen, complete with a rock climbing wall on the outside. Obviously that doesn't have anything to do with their wedding, it's just super cool.
Okay, okay back to the Love Story. This was a destination wedding for their crew, and they made sure to hit all the hippest spots in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They got ready and said their "I do's", tied a Celtic knot at one of my favorite Chattanooga wedding venues, conveniently located 5 minutes from my house: The Church on Main. It's this incredible historic building, wooden floors, exposed Edison bulbs and brick walls - ugh, yes please.
Afterwards, Kelsey, Breck, J and I as well as the totally awesome, extremely talented husband and wife video team - BC Weds (mmkay, I really love these two), drove up to Sunset Rock for their bride and groom portraits. We got there right before a summer storm opened up the skies, and it made for this totally majestic and magical background - I mean heavenly sunrays shining through the clouds, and winblown hair Beyonce would be jealous of! No seriously - these are probably some of my favorite wedding portraits of all time - talk about EPIC.
We drove back through a torrential downpour to make it to their wedding reception at one of the hippest bars in town - The Flying Squirrel Bar, also conveniently located right across the street from Church on Main and 5 minutes and 20 seconds from my house. These two were greeted by so much love, joy, and some of the best wedding toasts I've ever heard from the Best Man, Maid of Honor, and fathers of the bride and groom. By the end of the night, Kelsey and Breck insisted that Justin, Bill, Chelsea and I all stick around to enjoy their wedding celebration - we did exactly that. We'll never turn down a beer with our brides and grooms!
