Grandview | Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain Wedding Venue

Grandview is a Chattanooga wedding venue perched atop Lookout Mountain at the entrance of Rock City. Its ornate English cottage design is cozy and unassuming, perfect for events planned with an intimate nature in mind. With sweeping views of the valleys and peaks surrounding Chattanooga, it is plain to see its namesake. It’s hard not to gasp when you see the overlook from the wedding ceremony site, or to imagine the twinkling lights of the city below during your reception, and simply not fall in love with Grandview. The intimate nature of the venue feels as though it would be a casual and relaxed backyard celebration, if you were Jane Eyre. With thoughtful details and plenty of character throughout the home, it’s easy to imagine just how picturesque it would be on wedding day.

The venue accommodates 150 people outside for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. If you’re planning a small wedding, the Oak Room can situate up to 40 people for dinner. On that note, Grandview does provide its own catering, as well as tables, chairs, and tablecloths. Rock City is also home to the Chanticleer Inn across the way from Grandview, if you’re hoping to stay on the property. There are also many beautiful vacation rental options on Lookout Mountain. If you choose to get ready at the venue, the home does feature two separate wedding suites for each party, respectively.

Only one event per day is booked with a total of 8 hours included on site. The patio can also accommodate a tent if need be in case of inclement weather, but this must be decided beforehand. Restrictions include: no open flame and biodegradable rice or petal toss. But they do allow sparklers for a grand exit at the end of the night. Another great perk - Grandview has its own dedicated parking lot for your guests. Starting price for Grandview is around $4200 without catering on a Saturday, but they do offer other options if you get married on a non-Saturday or during off-season.

Bonus: The wedding couple gets access to Rock City for photo opportunities.

Grandview on Lookout Mountain is a Chattanooga wedding venue with beautiful views of the valley below.

Perched on Lookout Mountain next to Rock City is a premier Chattanooga wedding venue: Grandview

Hidden behind natural boulder features and a wall of evergreens, Grandview feels like its own private mountain oasis.

The quaint English cottage design is an appeal for anyone seeking a venue that doesn’t feel very southern in nature.

Dark wooden beams and wall panels line the great hall of the Grandview.

The foyer walking into the estate with windows overlooking the mountain view - the perfect place to highlight your wedding cake!

The soft light that sweeps in through the foyer would make for a beautiful bridal portrait, and quite an entrance down the dark wooden staircase.

Regal curtains frame the windows - no doubt another terrific location for a bridal portrait or window-lit couple’s portrait. I can even imagine a tiny flower girl peering out the window at the arriving guests.

The sitting area at the top of the stairs inside the Grandview wedding venue. I can imagine capturing the moment the bridal party and bride begin to make their way down the hallway on their way to the ceremony.

A light-filled (photographer’s favorite!) wedding suite with an oversized mirror perfect for capturing those getting ready moments. I would turn off the lamps and allow the windows to be my only source of light for cinematic photos.

Antique design elements set the space off. Capturing a bride as she applies a last coat of lipstick or a spritz of perfume as she sits at the vanity would be a beautiful wedding portrait.

The en suite bathroom is even filled with light, and better yet, plenty of mirrors for your bridal party to all find a space to get ready in. Reflections are fun to play with when photographing, and I am always seeking out crisp backgrounds for your details, like this white tile floor.

Across the hall is another wedding suite, with a moodier or more masculine design. Picture your fiancé as he has just finished tying his shoes, leaning back into the leather chair, and pouring a whiskey over rocks to sip on while calming his nerves, reading his vows once more before the ceremony.

Another bathroom with good light, and the view overlooking the patio and out across the valley.

The light that streams in through the windows is just glorious. Finding these bright patches of light against the dark wood is a contrast I live for in my photography - dramatic and emotive.

The mountain stone room could also be a great space for groomsmen or for sneaking away to right after the ceremony.

With stone walls and low ceilings, this room feels like a lodge - cozy and charming.

The view of the Grandview estate as guests arrive and make their way to the ceremony site.

The driveway to the right of the house would make the perfect first look location with the hedges and the venue both visible.

The view of the ceremony space from the top of the stairs.

The stairs down to the ceremony. With two photographers, we could capture the wedding couple’s entrance from the top of the stairs with the ceremony site below and from the bottom, with the Grandview behind them.

With a view of the valley below you, this ceremony space is unbeatable. During the summer, the trees shade you and your guests.

The view of the backside of Grandview from the ceremony space.

Green spaces at the back of the house feel like a secret garden and would make great photo locations for the happy couple.

The reception space patio at the back of the Grandview has views your guests will be delighted over!

The reception space is large enough for dinner tables and a dance floor. It can even be tented to prepare for inclement weather.

The views above the clouds overlooking the valley below can’t be beat at the Grandview.

An additional patio off the grand hall overlooks the reception space down below.

The Grandview does have dedicated parking for your guests.

The natural rock features around the property make for stunning wedding photos.
